| I have been in the mental health profession for 46 years. I have worked in forensic psychiatry, community mental health, and private practice. I have been in private practice since 1987. I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. I am trained and practice Cognitive-Behavioral techniques, Cognitive Processing, Interpersonal therapy, and client-centered therapy. I have been involved with clinical intern supervision and field research assistance. I served as the chief operations officer and director of personnel for a large successful private practice in Northern Illinois. I am a Vietnam combat veteran and have served in the United States Armed forces in Southeast Asia, Europe, South America, and on US military installations. I have worked with veterans from WWII to the wars on terrorism. I am a life member of the Disabled Veterans of America, 82d Airborne Division Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion. I was born and raised in North Carolina. I have two adult children and four grandchildren. My wife is a retired public-school principal and continues to work as a curriculum consultant at a local school district. We live on a small farm with our 3 horses, Bernese Mountain dog, and cats. My hobbies are traveling and playing golf. | |
